Giovanni Battista Lodi da Cremona
Biography

Little is known about Giovanni Battista Lodi da Cremona (1520-1612). He worked as a painter and developed part of his career in Flanders. He carried out commissions with Pannemaker, for whom he painted the tapestry cartoons that ended up in the hands of the Duke of Lerma. There are numerous works attributed to Giovanni Battista Lodi da Cremona scattered in museums and institutions. See, by way of example, the following: Madonna and Child (Church of Saints Egidio and Omobono, Cremona) or the cartoons of the tapestry series The Marriage of Mercury (Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and Museo Nacional del Prado, Madrid).
