There is hardly any news about Nicolas Polonius. It is believed that he came from Poland because of his surname (Beaujouan, 1962). He was the first professor of astronomy at the University of Salamanca, documenting his presence between 1460-1464. The Tabulae ad meridianum Salamantinum are attributed to him (García Avilés, 1994; Porres de Mateo and Chabás, 1998).
