Juana Enríquez, wife of Juan II, King of Aragon

Description

Juana Enríquez (1425-1468) was the daughter of the Admiral of Castile, Fadrique Enríquez, and Marina de Ayala. During the first years of her life she lived between Torrelobatón and Medina de Rioseco. However, after the death of her mother in 1431, Fadrique Enríquez decided to move her to Toledo. In 1443 her marriage was arranged with Juan, Prince of Aragon and King of Navarre. In 1542 she gave birth to Ferdinand, who would become Ferdinand II of Aragon and V of Castile years later.
