Jorge Larco (1897-1967) was born in Buenos Aires, but moved with his family to live in Madrid. He worked as a painter and exhibited his work in numerous exhibitions, such as the Paris International Exposition (1937), where he won two gold medals. He also worked as a set designer in opera and theater productions in Argentina. The trips he made for his work allowed him to acquire a wide variety of works of art, forming a collection that he bequeathed to the National Museum of Fine Arts of Argentina after his death.
