Lorenzo Ramírez de Prado (1583-1658) was born in Zafra and died in Madrid. He was the son of Alonso Ramírez de Prado, who worked in the service of Philip III. Lorenzo followed in his father's footsteps and was a royal advisor to Philip III and Philip IV. He was also an avid collector of books and assembled one of the largest collections of the time.
