Description

José Ignacio Miró was an antiquarian specializing in manuscripts, an appraiser and a great lover of jewelry (Cabello, 2019). Miró sold his archaeological collection to the National Archaeological Museum of Madrid in 1872. There were a total of 250 pieces, including the Cortesian codex, a Mayan manuscript and three large heads from Uxmal (Cabello, 1986).
