The municipality of Aartselaar (Belgium) had a Catholic church that was destroyed in the second half of the 16th century as a result of the iconoclastic riots (Jonckheere and Suykerbuyk, 2012; Diéguez, 2019). Very little evidence of the church has survived. Thanks to Antonio del Río’s will, we know that its interior housed a triptych depicting the descent of the Holy Spirit and portraits of the donors and their children (Estella, 1996). Today, the side panels of the triptych are housed in the Louvre Museum (Paris).
