Paul Drey (1885-1953) was born in New York. He came from a family of art dealers and in 1920 opened his own business: Paul Drey Gallery. He sold pieces for major American museums such as the Metropolitan Art Museum, the National Gallery, the Chicago Art Institute and the Boston Museum of Art.
