John North Willys

John North Willys (1873–1935) was born in Canandaigua, New York. In his youth, he worked as a bicycle salesman, but at the turn of the 20th century, he redirected his career towards the automotive sector. He became a pioneer in the industry, and his company, Willys-Overland Motors, grew to become one of the most prominent in the market. During the prosperous years, he devoted himself to collecting numerous works of art to display in his residence. In 1933, following the Great Depression, Willys' company declared bankruptcy, and he exited the business.
