Raimundo de Madrazo y Garreta

Description

Raimundo de Madrazo y Garreta (1841-1920) was born into a family of artists, which influenced him to pursue the same path. His father was the painter Federico de Madrazo, and his grandfather was the renowned José de Madrazo. Raimundo spent much of his life in Paris, where he achieved significant success within artistic circles and high society (Valverde, 1896). In addition to his career as a painter, he was an avid art collector. He amassed an impressive collection of works, including pieces by both old masters and contemporary artists.
