Description

Frances Isabel Morris Ledyard (1862-1955) was the daughter of John Albert Morris and Cora Davison Hennen Morris. On her mother's side, she was the granddaughter of a prominent New Orleans judge, while on her father's side she descended from the influential Morris family. Her father was a prominent figure in the horse racing world and became the owner of the Morris Park racetrack in New York. Frances Isabel married Thurlow Weed Barnes, with whom she had a daughter, Muriel Morris Moore. After Barnes' death in 1882, she remarried Lewis Cass Ledyard.
