The Layetanas Galleries were located at number 613 Gran Vía de las Cortes Catalanas (Barcelona). They were founded in 1915 by Santiago Segura, who promoted both modern and ancient art. Under his direction, and later that of figures such as Cebrià Pagès and Josep Gudiol, the gallery hosted exhibitions of artists such as Picasso, Miró, Tàpies or Torres-García (Fondevila, 2018). They stood out for their role in the promotion of sumptuary arts and for exhibitions such as the Celler decorated by Xavier Nogués. In addition, they sold pieces to local and international collectors, such as Lluís Plandiura or William Randolph Hearst. They were also able to channel the Catalan artistic renovation through groups such as Les Arts i els Artistes and events such as theSalons d'Octubre. Despite their success, the Galeries Layetanes closed in 1958 due to urban planning factors (Fondevila, 2018).
