Anders Leonard Zorn (1860-1920) was born in Mora, Sweden. In 1875 he began studying fine arts in Stockholm, being known for his impressionist paintings. After finishing his studies he met his future wife, Emma Lamm. Zorn traveled through Europe on many occasions, especially Spain (Sandström, 1992). He acquired numerous works for his private collection, which was also nourished by the pieces he produced himself (Lidbeck, 2007). His wife founded the Zorn Museum in his honor in 1939.
