Antonio de Aragón y Córdoba (1615-1650) was born in Córdoba. He was the son of Enrique Ramón Folch de Cardona y Aragón, Duke of Cardona and Segorbe, and Catalina Fernández de Córdoba y Figueroa. After studying for a bachelor of arts degree, he held the position of canon in the cathedral of Cordoba and later became archdeacon of Castro del Rio (Cordoba). He was also a scholar at the Colegio Mayor de San Bartolomé (Salamanca). He died one day before being named cardinal.
