Description

Jeanne Smith (1857-1943) and Madeleine Smith-Champion (1864-1940) were the nieces of Auguste Lesouëf. After the death of their uncle, they inherited his book collection. They decided to build the Smith-Lesouëf library in Nogent-sur-Marne to house his collection of manuscripts, rare books and engravings (Duhau, 2006).
