Description

The brothers William Boone (1790–1873) and Thomas Boone (1795–1870) devoted themselves to selling antique and rare books. They initially set up shop in Russell Court, then moved to the Strand, and finally, in 1830, they moved permanently to New Bond Street (London). Throughout the 19th century, they sold many manuscripts to the British Museum, including The Bedford Hours and the Martyrum gesta.
