Description

Robert Marie Armand de Ligondès (?-1934), known in the documentation referring to the Ramallas treasure jewels as "Count de Ligandes," was a French count whose residence was at the Château de Connives (Indre, France). In the last third of the 19th century, he settled in Arcillera (Zamora) with the aim of exploiting the tin and iron mines in the area (Matesanz, 2022). During his stay in the town, he purchased a set of Celtiberian silver jewelry, which he later sold in London in 1932.
