Philip Hurd (?–1845) worked as a lawyer and was also a great bibliophile. He amassed a large collection of manuscripts, including the Breviary of Isabella the Catholic, now held at The British Library (London), and the Apocalypse of Margaret of York, preserved at The Morgan Library (New York). His collection was auctioned in 1845 by the firm Evans in London.
