Biography

Endura was an active copyist at the beginning of the 10th century (Tyson, 1932; Shailor, 1979) at the Monastery of San Pedro de Cardeña (Burgos). Among the works attributed to him are the Martyrum gesta or Liber passionum, preserved in the British Library, a hypothesis that Serna (2023) does not support, and the Super Psalmos in the John Rylands Library. Berganza (1719) in Antigüedades de España noted that he worked with another copyist named Sebastián, who may have been his disciple.
