Biography

Master active in Castile in the last quarter of the 14th century, to whom is assigned the old main altarpiece of the church of San Andrés de Añastro, in the county of Treviño (Burgos), whose panels are today distributed between the Palace of the Provincial Council of Burgos, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Zuloaga Museum in Zumaia (Guipúzcoa). Also assigned to him is the panel of the Martyrdom of St. Catherine in the Art Institute of Chicago, or the panel representing a holy bishop, from the Riojan town of Medrano and currently in the Diocesan Museum of Calahorra.
