Biography

Sebastian was an active copyist in the second third of the 10th century at the Monastery of San Pedro de Cardeña (Burgos). Francisco de Berganza (1719) in Antigüedades de España noted that "during the time of Abbot Don Estevan Primero Endura Presbytero, and Sebastian Diacono wrote the Exposicion, which Casiodoro made of the Psalms." Therefore, it seems likely that he worked alongside Endura in the preparation of some manuscripts, such as the Super Psalmos preserved in the John Rylands Library (Manchester).
