Albrecht Haupt (1852-1932) was an architect and art historian. He worked as a professor at the Technical University of Hanover, where he specialised in the study of German Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Additionally, Haupt was an avid art collector; his collection included manuscripts, drawings, prints, and books from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries. He played a prominent role as a co-founder of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Hanover and, in 1923, donated his collection of prints to the University of Göttingen.
