The Museum of Fine Arts of Houstonwas inaugurated in 1917. A few years later, in 1924, it opened its doors to the public. The museum has pieces from various private collections, such as those of George M. Dickson, Annette Finnigan, Ima Hogg, Frederic Remington and Edith and Percy Straus, among others.
