Edward Waldo Forbes

Description

Edward Waldo Forbes (1873-1969) was born in the Elizabeth Islands, Massachusetts. His father had founded the Bell Telephone Company with Graham Bell and his mother was the daughter of the poet Waldo Emerson. This environment led Edward to study at Harvard University and Oxford University, taking an early interest in art. He taught from 1904-1905 at the Middlesex School and Harvard University. Edward later served as director of the Fogg Museum from 1909-1944.
