Fogg Museum, Harvard Art Museums

Cambridge [Massachusetts] (United States)

Description

The Fogg Art Museum is part of the Harvard Art Museums, which also includes the Busch-Reisinger Museum and the Arthur M. Sackler Museum. In 1891 Elizabeth Fogg made a donation so that an art museum could be built in memory of her husband. A few years later, in 1895, the museum opened in Harvard Yard. However, in 1927 the location was changed to 32 Quincy Street. Among the pieces housed in the museum are some from Castilla y León, such as the Presentation of Christ in the Templeor a fragment of mural painting from the Monastery of San Pedro de Arlanza (Burgos).
