Description

Raymond Moss and William Edgmon were two real estate developers known for acquiring the Sacramenia monastery (Segovia), whose pieces Hearst had left packed and stored in warehouses in the Bronx, New York (Merino de Cáceres, 2003; Merino de Cáceres and Martínez Ruiz, 2012). These pieces were auctioned at Parke-Bernet (New York) in 1951: on December 4, they bought the monastery for $5,000, and between December 7 and 8, they also acquired thecoats of arms of the convent of San Francisco de Cuéllar for $1,490 (Merino de Cáceres, 1991).
