Description

The Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Museums is a public agency that manages more than seventy parks, museums, and historic properties throughout Nassau County (Long Island, New York). Among its most notable sites is Sands Point Preserve, the former estate of the Guggenheim family, which includes the Falaise Mansion, the summer residence of Harry Guggenheim. Following his death in 1971, his estate was donated to Nassau County to be used as a museum.
