The Mission of San Diego dates back to 1769, when the Franciscan friar Junípero Serra settled there and turned it into a center for evangelization. In the last third of the 20th century, collector Daniel Donohue donated part of the choir stalls from the Convent of Santa Clara (Astudillo, Palencia) to his friend Brent Eagen, pastor of the Mission of San Diego.
