Description

The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts was founded in 1860 thanks to the economic and artistic donations of some Montreal families. In 1879 the Art Gallery was inaugurated in Phillips Square, but in 1912 they moved to Sherbrooke Street. Among the works from Castilla y León housed in the institution is the Portrait of a Gentleman of the House of Leiva, originally located in the Cathedral of Valladolid.
