Description

This museum was founded by William Lever, 1st Viscount Leverhulme, in 1922. It is named after his late wife, Elizabeth Hulme, also known as Lady Lever. William Lever was a great collector of art. He was mainly interested in British art, however, over time he collected other types of objects such as Chinese art or pieces of classical antiquity.
