Description

This sculpture was part of an altarpiece, and according to Stratton (1992), it was created in the mid-16th century. The scene depicts the moment when the shepherds adore Jesus and is reminiscent of works by Alonso Berruguete and Francisco Giralte. The technique used to polychrome the altarpiece is "estofado" combined with burnished gold.
