Boston (United States)

Description

The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston was inaugurated on July 4, 1876 in Copley Square. A few years later, in 1909, the building was closed for renovations. The architect responsible for the new construction was Guy Lowell, who was in charge of modifying the painting wing and the decorative arts wing. The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston houses numerous works of art from Castilla y León. Among others: the mural paintings of the Hermitage of San Baudelio de Berlanga (Soria), Fragment of the clothing of San Pedro de Osma (Soria) and the sculptures of the evangelists that Gil de Siloé made for the Monastery of Nuestra Señora de Fresdelval (Burgos).
