The Museum & Gallery at Bob Jones University has its origins in the collection of Bob Jones, son of the university's founder. In 1948, he began collecting sacred art with the aim of establishing a museum at the institution. Although it opened in 1951, it soon became too small and the collection had to be moved to a new building. The museum is currently planning a new location for the pieces.
