The Pennsylvania Museum and School of Industrial Art opened in 1876. Later, in 1930 it adopted its current name: Philadelphia Museum of Art. The institution has grown thanks to the donation and acquisition of new pieces. Among the works from Castilla y León housed in the institution is the Alfombra del Almirantefrom the Monastery of Santa Clara (Palencia).
